Lake Powell

This June we went with our neighbors to Lake Powell!! It was tons of fun!! We stayed in Page and ate some amazing food; I still crave the Mexican food we had the first night. We left Beau with my parents so we could actually have fun!!!!! Thanks Mom and Dad and Lynette for watching our little man, and Thanks Mel and Durand for vacationing with us and letting us play on your boat!!!!

I won't lie the drive was pretty long have no fear though we were stopped at construction when we took this.

All ready to play!!
Mckenna, Marren, & Melanie
Poor Durand was being the good dad and let Mckenna choke him out and drown him while she had fun knee boarding!
Mckenna went tons of rounds on the tube and was fine, but Matt strained his manly bicep!! :)

I thought I would go all out to end my last run and ended up crashing so bad I had a headache the rest of the weekend. It was pretty funny!!

These cute girls are so much fun and super funny. They did an awesome job for their first boating trip!!!

You would think they got enough water at the lake but apparently not!! :)

Before we took off we went on a dam tour! It was pretty interesting and really is amazing that it was been built for as long as it has and how much energy it creates!!

Click on these two pictures to put the size into perspective there are people's heads up at the top of the first one and we were still on top of the dam!!! And there are giant fish in the second one. Pretty SWEET!!!

This was HUGE and I thought I would make it look even bigger with our tour guide next to it cuz he was super short, but really cool!!!!

After the dam tour, Matt and I drove on to Zion National Park. Neither of us had ever been there, and I had no idea what to expect. It was AMAZING!!! It was so beautiful and so much fun to see tons of people with their little families there. We are totally going back as much as possible cuz we didn't even get to see the half of it! We recommend it to everyone!! I took a million pictures and none of them do any justice to how beautiful it was.

My FABULOUS hiking apparel!! The ice cream completed the outfit when it totally dumped down the front of me!

These were really cool, just hanging out while millions of people drove on past and didn't even see them. This bird sat right next to me like it mine as well have sat on my lap!

Over Memorial weekend we headed to my parents in Hyde Park and along the way we stopped to put some flowers on my Dad's side, the Umpleby's, in the SLC cemetery. That place is huge!!!! Anyway it is always really neat to go, and now I have a picture of Beau with his ancestors headstones!!! :) Fun for his family history records.

These are my Grandparents. I never actually met my Dad's biological mom; she passed away in childbirth when my Dad was about 4.

This is my Grandpa's second wife who raised my Dad.

And my Great Grandparents. My Great Grandpa actually died in the mine that I live right next to.

One of the MANY reasons why I love my parents house!! They have an amazing view.

Beau insisted on wearing my Dad's shoes. He followed me around with them screaming until I put them on.

A pheasant just strolling through my parents backyard. Like I said this camera has no zoom, but if you click on the picture you can see it pretty well.

The next day Lynette and her family came over and we went with my Mom to decorate her side of the families' graves. These are only a few of the ones we went to.

This is my Grandparents headstone and it was the first time I have actually seen it, so I was excited to go. All of my Grandparents were amazing and I miss them like crazy!!!
So we made a few of the flower creations that morning and there were so many flowers in the car I felt like we were being attacked!!! She has a lot of family buried close to each other. :) I wasn't as skilled as Lynette in staking down the pots. I'm kind of a dork!

My Great Great Grandparents and my Great Grandparents

It was a lot of fun and really neat to hear some stories, one story particularly but I don't think I will tell it. My Mom and Lynette know which one!! ha ha ha
While we were gone Matt had Beau which was wonderful. He LOVES the tramp at my parents house and was funny to watch jump on it.

By the time we got a video he was done.... sound familiar... that is pretty much how it goes with every video I get. Oh well it is still funny to watch! After this last weekend with all the kids up there he now thinks he has to run up slides which he is incapable of doing and throws massive fits when he can't. One small character flaw of our wonderful child. Oh well we'll take it over others. :)
It was so much fun going to my parents I don't go enough, but I am always excited to when the chance rolls along. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
So here are some funny pictures of "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF BEAU"
This is one of Beau's many hiding places. Not really all that sneaky huh!

One evening I was watering the garden and Beau discovered the much enjoyment that mud has to offer!!! It was so cute I didn't have the heart to stop him. He spent forever playing in it, but when I ran to get the camera, like always, he decided to move on. When I tried to get the mud out of his shirt I accidentally ended up getting bleach on the blue part and totally ruining it, and I really liked that shirt too. Sadness

He is addicted to Capn' Crunch which is sad to say but it is pretty funny! We find piles of it laying around, so I finally had to hide it.

Beau insists on eating his banana while he is holding it and only while he is holding it. He did this with an apple yesterday too. He threw a fit when I tried to give him an apple slice, he thought he needed to carry around the whole apple, but I let him cuz I want him to actually eat. I've created a monster!!!

Beau loves to wear stuff on his head. He thinks he is pretty cool!
This is our beautiful boy doing what he does in the tub....soaking EVERYTHING... all I can say is thank heavens for tile floors. By the time I got the camera he was kinda over it.
