Oregon Fun!!!

In August Jesse took us to Oregon to go fishing on the Columbia River. It was so much fun and something I have always wanted to go do. I love Oregon; I think it (well western Oregon) is absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect too. A huge thanks goes to Audrey and Mike for watching Beau for us, so we could go and to Jesse for taking us!!!! Thanks all!!!! The drive was long and made longer on the way home by wrong turns, but it was all worth it. :)

The first day was a little slow at first, but was a beautiful day and made it so we could take lots of pictures and see the ginormous ships going up the river. Unfortunately I only took our little camera with no zoom, so this ship looks tiny compared to what it really looked like.

Jessica and I got to wear the sweetest outfits ever and made me feel like I was the real thing!! :) It was fun to have her there, but she was only there the first day.

It was a lot of fun reeling them in, they were way bigger than any other fish I've ever caught.

We maxed out even though it started out slow and it was soooooo much fun, but I must say the COOLEST thing ever was that we saw a little dolphin (well actually it was a porpoise but I'm still gonna call it a dolphin) swimming near us. I love dolphins but have never seen a wild one and it was so cool. Another funny thing was watching the pelicans dive under the water for fish. Matt was bringing in a huge fish one time and this pelican was flying above him forever thinking over whether or not it was edible. We totally could have poked it with the fishing pole it was so close.

After we cleaned them up we went back to the hotel, then Jesse took Jessica back to Portland, so Matt and I just hung out.

This is the view from our room. It was amazing!!! This bridge goes on forever this only shows a tiny bit of it, and what kills me is that it crosses the river even though the river is so huge it looks like the ocean to me!!!!

This is day two and Matt now gets to wear the "I'm a real fisherman pants" This day was totally awesome!!! We maxed out our tags and the guides tag in 1 1/2 hours. It was so cool and crazy. There were times we had two fish on the lines and one still laying in the boat cause we were catching them so fast. It was a total rush and tons of fun. Hence no pics :)

The fish we caught on day two. The whole trip was so much fun and we really appreciate Jesse for taking us. It was something I have always wanted to do.

The one thing that made me sad was that we were in the home town of my roommate from college that I miss so bad and I didn't get to see her because my phone got broken and I lost her number. I was heart broken, but afterward I got to talk to her and she was actually fishing in Alaska at the time which made me feel way better, but I was still sad I was that close and didn't get to see her!!!

Summer Fun!!!

So I finally decided to put some really old pictures on and i should know better cuz it always takes me ten times as long when there are so many, but alas I will probably do it many more times!!! Most of these are out of order and they cover the entire summer, but I was too lazy to organize them... ENOY!!

Remember this June storm. I loved it but the hail completely shredded a ton of my plants and the leaves on almost everything. I sure am grateful for a sturdy house cuz at times I thought our house was going to blow over!!!

That wasn't even the worst of it!!

He is the biggest TV head along with his father. Here is Beau's first "fort", he thought it was pretty sweet, especially to break it down.

Matt's Mom and Grandma came over one evening when Grandma was in town from Phoenix. Beau loves company, so he did his best at running around and entertaining them.

Grandma was playing a game with him where you sing a German song and bounce him and then dump him over which he thought was hilarious. It was really cute. He also thought she was the coolest person when she shared chocolate covered strawberries with him!!! YUMMY!! It was really good to see her, I wish we lived closer and could see them more often. We are really excited to see them both when they come for Christmas this year!!!

Grandma sent Beau a shirt that she got him when they were in France; it is really cute. She always brings him fun stuff back from their trips. She also sent him some silverware that she had been given when she was little. I just think that is such a wonderful thing to have just like the blanket she gave him that has squares on it that her mother stitched animals on. Thanks for all the special gifts Grandma!!!

On July 24, Matt's company got everyone derby tickets. We love derbys cuz they are hilarious, but I forgot the camera like always and didn't get any derby pictures.

Beau let me put the cape on him for the very first time ever. His hair was so long this time, but it actually laid down mostly.

Matt's Dad has come out for dinner a few times which makes Beau happy cuz then he gets to entertain. I am a horrible picture taker, I was pretty sad these were super dark.

Beau loves to play swords. He climbed up into his lap to watch his "toons".

One night we went recycling with James and Stephanie and ended up getting rained on, so we went and drove through the mud instead!! It was pretty funny.

One night we planted a little tree and he had to "help" the whole time. He has always had to be right there in the action doing as close to what we are doing as he can and he gets all serious about it too. It is so funny!!

He loves raw onions!!! He begs for them and when we are out in the garden he picks the tops off of the ones growing and eats them and says, Ummm, Yummy!!! Then we get wonderful stinky breath kisses... it's great!!

This is what we end up with when we water while Beau is awake, but he just loves it so what do ya do!!

Beau LOVES to put on other people's shoes, and I just couldn't resist putting this picture on cuz it cracks me up... Ha Ha pun intended!!! :)

We have gone to the splash park a few times this summer and Beau just loves it every time we go. He just runs around with the big kids getting soaked and laughing the whole time.

We ended up waiting for the water to come on a lot this day. It was really frustrating.

Between snacking and the water Eli was happy as a clam. Kylah is always such a big helper!!!!

Beau LOVES getting splashed by water. I have to water outside when he is sleeping otherwise he ends up getting soaked!!!! It is super cute though he just squeals and laughs. I love it!!!

I don't know why but the kid belly bumps EVERYTHING!!!

Spencer preferred the playground area. Jake got pushed off this thing by some little brats as we were cleaning up to leave and it ripped his toe nail off. Luckily Shanna was prepared since Kennedy also had a toe nail issue. Poor Family!!!

Caleb did such a good job just being a patient little boy and taking a nap.

Can anyone say POSER!! :)

This is after Beau's very first swimming lesson. He LOVED swimming lessons. It was so cute!!! He was just a crazy man and would take off running; it scared the crap out of me several times, but he was thrilled so whatever. He had to wear this funny plastic diaper that he couldn't quite figure out.

Unfortunately I was super lazy this year with taking pictures at my family reunion at Bear Lake, but even though I don't have pictures we had a ton of fun that weekend!!!

Gotta love the age where you have to stand right next to him the entire time... not!!! But with him we really have to since he has no fear of water. He just dives right in. Even the lake where the waves would come over his face. Then he would just laugh and do it again. :)

He completely covered himself in mud. It was pretty funny and he always wants to do it at home and this time he actually got to!!

There were these nasty little pools of water where the kids played all day long. Beau loved it, but man it really creaped me out cuz you didn't know if they were warm because it was so hot out or cuz of a different nasty reason!!! YUCK!!!

For Beau's half birthday we got him a bike. He was so excited. He loves to help, and has to do everything we are doing. He had the screw driver and was doing exactly what Matt was. He is so stinkin funny!!!

A weekend at Grandma's house!! He loves basketball, this hoop is just a little too high unless he can sucker Uncle Danny into lifting him... which he always can. :)

One weekend Kathy watched Beau overnight for us while we went on a special visit to the temple then went night fishing. It was a lot of fun I think we ended up getting home around 2:00 am. Remember the good ol' days when that was getting home EARLY!!! Thanks, Kathy, for watching Beau!!!

Wow we are HOT!! :) The bugs are so bad you have to wear your hood or they go in your ears!! YUCK!!!

James and Stephanie. Steph is the pro fisherwoman!! She always catches fish!! They were jumping all around us and making this weird noise, it was really cool.
Matt fell asleep on the rocks fishing then gave up and went and slept in the car. I had a picture but it is too dark to see very well.

Just the other day I was mowing when Beau woke up, so I brought him out while I finished. He played really well for the first little bit then decided he needed to "help". It was so funny everything he was helping me with he just kept saying, "helping" "helping" over and over. Then he helped me water the flowers and ended up squealing running through the water and even taking his hat off to let it run down his head. I love this kid.

He loves baseball and wants to play it all day. He begs for his bat and when he finally gets it is like "hit".
